Supervision Groups
In depth psychotherapy grows best with the richness of in depth supervision. Jo-Anne’s supervision groups offer therapists the opportunity to develop a practice that is truly respectful of client's expressed desires and needs. Through Espritedu, Jo-Anne Corbeil provides the depth required to assist, support, hone and develop highly skilled clinicians who are able to assess and treat clients in ways that honor a client's and a therapist's integrity. This advanced supervision process parallels the clinician's therapeutic process with their clients. This creates a learning environment which is respectful, strength based and empowering for both the therapist and the therapeutic relationship.
This model of supervision provides therapists with the means necessary to negotiate the complex therapeutic terrain with insight and greater awareness of the intricacies that both the therapist and client bring to the relationship.
Clinical supervision requires a seasoned therapist able to discern the sources of misattunements within the therapeutic relationship. The therapist, the client, and the therapeutic relationship are all possible sites from which misattunements might originate. Advanced supervision challenges the therapist to explore these blocks and develop ways of communicating both within supervision and within the therapeutic relationship to deepen the client/therapist relationship.
Jo-Anne Corbeil has developed a model of supervision that integrates progressive analytic theory, creative approaches, body based knowledge, and humour. This model provides a safe context where clinicians can explore and mine their personal reactions to the therapeutic relationship. Learnings that emerge from the supervision are woven back into the therapy creating a profound environment in which change and growth is possible for therapist and the client alike.
New supervision group starting on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011.
This bi-weekly group is aimed to help psychotherapists and psychologists who are just about to start, or who have just started, a new practice. One-on-one supervision is also available.
